greetings readers!
its been awfully long since i wrote something. a few things, one is that i’ve been working awfully late. second thing, you can’t write any blogs and post after 2 am…try it…it never works for me. i cant even get to open the blog window!. thirdly, just plain malas(lazy, for the newbie to bahasa malaysia).
so, to compensate it, i shall try to write my own blog-a-thon, a trilogy of sorts…
besides the haze, has anything significant happened to us all lately? well, for one, i miss the haze. yeah, it complemented the mood of the week for most. hazy days, melancholic moments, sadness, but it took its own sweet time to clear. i missed the clear blue skies a week after the haze. just like many. at first, it was like a welcome sight to the awfully hot spell we’ve been having, then the haze came, okay thank you very much, but he overstayed, and just like an over staying non paying guest turned pest, the rain came on, just like a bouncer clearing the mess some jerks got into a bar. sigh.
and now..we’re back to our old schedule. its hot as hell now, and the haze/clouds/shade would be great. hot, humid and dusty. a haven for the flu bug!
i was at a wellness talk organised by a group of doctors the other day. initially apprehensive, i soon agreed to the idea that, that night, i had no futsal, no work, and no life. so i headed for the talk, with a high level of cynical skepticism that the talk would soon turn out to be another ploy to recruit the masses into some new world order thinggy. but hey, it did open my eyes alright. it introduced to everyone the ultimate devil’s pact. the connection between pharmaceutical companies and the current economics.
so whats the hype about the pharma companies and the economics? think about these few facts, do your own research. keep an open mind, but beware. powerful forces are at play here. but we all have a choice. now why do i sound like that deep voice from the movie trailers? hehehehe, nevermind.
the pharmaceutical industry is a mammoth industry in terms of dollars and cents. if you convert the actual value of the industry into our beloved ringgit, it will morph from mammoth into a t-rex! yes, that huge. but then again, look into the medications and areas of interests that they have been concerntrating. the usual suspects are, cholestrol killers, anti depressants, influenza medications, antibiotics, fever, stress related medications and a lot more. think about this…with so much of funding, why cant they just find a cure for the flu??? or for aids?
you wanna know why? simple logic in business is that you produce something to sell, and you sell something that the masses want and can afford. so, the affordability and the profitability comes into the picture, hence the devil’s pact. commercialism has taken care of the demise of honour and humanitarian values in the industry. in other words, they’re makin medicines that will fill their coffers, and dont care if the coffins pile up, in which at times there aren’t even coffins to accomodate the numbers.
thats the situation in a nutshell. its either you look it as a hyperbaric-like truth that hits you on the face, or dismiss it as some hocus pocus conspiracy theory. either way, it sure kills alot of time, especially if you have to spend the whole day in an empty office waiting for some action. and i’m down with the flu. no medications yet, hopefully i’ll get an mc tomorrow…hehehehehehe….but seriously, this is one souvenier i’m going to cherish the whole day. thats right, the flu today is a souvenier. and if you’re reading(you know who), i’m enjoying every minute of it.
cheers everyone…..the story continues……
plain ol flu-bug-hit joe
